Helen is a British Alpaca Society (BAS) Affiliate Trainer, delivering training based on the official BAS syllabus.
These courses follow a nationally recognised framework, designed to support responsible, welfare-led alpaca ownership and give you a solid, practical foundation from the start.
Training is delivered in small groups and tailored to the experience level of those attending, combining core modules with hands-on learning and real-world application.
Whether you’re starting out or building confidence, you’ll leave with clear, practical knowledge you can apply straight away.
Courses are based on core BAS modules covering feeding, handling, health, breeding and fibre.

Helen is a Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 30 years’ clinical experience and more than 20 years working with alpacas as a breeder and herd manager.
Her training is grounded in real, day-to-day alpaca ownership - focusing on practical handling, welfare-led management and the decisions owners actually face.
As a British Alpaca Society (BAS) Affiliate Trainer, Helen delivers structured, recognised training alongside independent courses designed to build confidence and avoid common mistakes.
She also works with breeder groups in the UK and internationally, sharing practical, experience-led guidance on herd health, biosecurity and long-term management.
You’ll leave with the knowledge and confidence to manage your own alpacas properly - with ongoing support if you need it.
